Postdoctoral Fellowships, 2011 - 2013

The Research and Training Program on Poverty and Public Policy at the National Poverty Center, Gerald Ford School of Public Policy, University of Michigan offers 1 – 2 year postdoctoral fellowships to scholars who are members of groups that are underrepresented in the social sciences (e.g. members of racial and ethnic minority groups, individuals from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, etc.).

The goals of this program are:  to provide an opportunity to conduct research and pursue extensive training in residence; to expand knowledge on a broad range of issues related to poverty and public policy, and to encourage interdisciplinary research.

Fellows will conduct their own research on a poverty-related topic under the direction of Sheldon Danziger, Henry J. Meyer Distinguished University Professor of Public Policy and Director, National Poverty Center.  Funds are provided by the Ford Foundation.

Applicants must have completed their Ph.D.s by August 31, 2011, be American citizens and belong to a group that is underrepresented in the social sciences.  Preference is given to those who have received their degree after 2005.   Application deadline is January 14, 2011, 5 PM EST.  Please direct questions to npcinfo@umich.edu.
