The Department of Economics within the Division of Social Sciences at UC San Diego (http://economics.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in economics (any field). The position begins July 1, 2011 (subject to budget provisions). The salary is per UCSD pay scales. Candidates must show potential for achieving significant results in original research, possess strong teaching skills, and have, or expect to complete, a PhD in economics by September 1, 2011. Candidates must provide vita, three original letters of reference (sent under separate cover), and a sample of the applicant’s work. In accordance with University policy, the preferred candidates will demonstrate potential for strong contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applicants are asked to summarize in a personal statement any past experience and leadership in equity and diversity, or their potential to make contributions in this area.
