National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
An independent Federal agency created in 1935 to enforce the National Labor Relations Act. Conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees want union representation and investigates and remedies unfair labor practices by employers and unions.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
Includes OSHA documents, links, and programs.
U.S. Social Security Statistics
The Office of Research, Evaluation and Statistics (ORES) provides ongoing statistical data and research analyses of the old-age, survivors, and disability insurance (OASDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs.

Statistical Resources

Business Cycle Indicators
Presents a set of 256 data series commonly known as the US Business Cycle Indicators. They are used for tracking and predicting US business activity. With a few exceptions that consists of quarterly data, the historical data is monthly data, originally published by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (now disseminated by The Conference Board, a private, not-for-profit organization). In most instances the data on this web site is complete from 1948 to 1995.

Employment Projections
Labor Force Statistics from the Current Population Survey
The Current Population Survey, a monthly household survey, conducted by the Bureau of the Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, provides a comprehensive body of information on the employment and unemployment experience of the Nation's population, classified by age, sex, race, and a variety of other characteristics.
Local Area Unemployment Statistics
The LAUS program provides monthly and annual average estimates for labor force, employment, unemployment, and the unemployment rate for some 6,700 areas. The areas include census regions and divisions, states, metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs), primary metropolitan statistical areas (PMSAs), labor market areas (LMAs), counties and county equivalents, cities with a population of 25,000 and over, and cities and towns in New England.
Regional Economic Information System
The REIS data base provides local area economic data for states, counties, and metropolitan areas for 1969-1996. Statistics in the data base include: personal income and earning variables, full and part employment variables, transfer payments variables, and farm income and expenses variables. The REIS data base is produced by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. This form allows the user to view this data by selecting economic variables, locations, and years.
