Research Forum on Children, Families, and the New Federalism Information Clearinghouse
The Research Forum operates an information clearinghouse of research related to income security and welfare reform, including the federal assistance program, Temporary Aid to Dependent Families (TANF). The clearinghouse features an on-line database with up-to-date summaries of welfare research projects. The database now includes 40 reviewed and 25 unreviewed research projects. .
National Poverty Center
The National Poverty Center (NPC) was established in the fall of 2002 as a university-based, nonpartisan research center. We conduct and promote multidisciplinary, policy-relevant research on the causes and consequences of poverty and provide mentoring and training to young scholars. Located within the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, the NPC’s primary funding is provided through a cooperative agreement with the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The National Poverty Center is co-directed by Rebecca M. Blank and Sheldon H. Danziger.
